Best 10 days of my life with Your Morocco Tour.

One of the memorable trip for me! For a travel wanderer like me, Morocco is the culmination! If you love sand, rip apart the sand dunes and view the panoramic beauty of desert life in Sahara.

Spanning a massive area of about 3,500,000 square miles, Sahara is rightly the ultimate quench of a travel freak.  Those who are unknown to me must be thinking definitely, Aah this girl loves sands! And all my friends and relatives, kindly do not blurt out my secrets in the comment box.

There’s much beyond than sands at Morocco. Amazing sites, beautiful architectural monuments, bountiful natural splendid- hold on! I won’t speak out all right here. To know more, you have to read till the end. Read out my journey detail and explore the vivacity of the place called Morocco.

My tour started with Your Morocco Tour just after I landed at Mohamed V Casablanca airport. Jana is a nice lady. We had a brief interaction before heading for the trip. After realizing my enthusiasm, she suggested me two tour packages her company has been offering- Grand Morocco Tour and Imperial Cities of Morocco. “Can you merge both for me?” Yes, this was what I asked Jana, even though I knew that it was not polite to ask so. “Yes, I can”, was the prompt reply. Thank You Jana!

Morocco Desert Tours

Hence my journey started with a combined holiday package of Your MoroccoTour along with a friendly guide Abderrahim Chaair. Given below are the details of my journey. I have jotted down the details of each day, so that readers get a clear picture of what was my journey all about.

Day 1:

I was picked up from my Hotel after I had the breakfast. My tour started by visiting the United Nation’s Building, followed by the ANFA district and the mosque of Hassan II. I also viewed the Mausoleum of Mohamed V and Kasbah Chellah en Oudaya Gardens. Thus, one day of my tour got completed! Out of all the sites I visited, the architectural beauty of the Mausoleum of Mohamed V appealed me the most. It resembled the world’s most beautiful building- Taj Mahal. Both these monuments seemed to have same architecture possibly due to their Muslim lineage.  After having a sumptuous dinner I retired for a sound sleep.

Day 2:

We were heading to Meknes. And on the way I visited the gem of the city- Moulay Ismail Mausoleum through the monumental gate “Bab Mansour”. On our way from Rabat to Meknes, I saw Volubilis, Baths of Gallium and Forum. What I saw at Volubilis was the ruins left by the Romans. The second day ended at Fez, one of the oldest city of Morocco.

Day 3:
Fez- Anything old, ancient and treasured is found in this city!   Bab Jloud, the Nejjarine Fountain, the mosques of El Karaouyine and La Mederessa Attarine fascinated me. Again I fell in love with Muslim architecture.

Day 4:

Fez is a nice city. I loved visiting the place. Next destination was Merzouga. But the journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains was awesome. Monkeys all through the way amused me the most. The valley of Ziz was also worth viewing.

Day 5:

Merzouga, Todra and finally El Kalaa (the rose town of the city) were my prime destinations on the fifth day. Natural views of the valley left me ecstatic. Who knew, widely acclaimed desert city is so beautiful within?

Day 6:

It was the driest of all the days. We had to move through the dry and arid tracks. Though the landscapes were not impressive, but still then also it had a different appeal. We were heading to Zagora.

Day 7:

This Zagora- Chegaga trip had a number of spectacular sand dunes. Here it seemed the real Sahara. I also viewed the Coran library and Kasbah. Though I was very much interested for a camel ride, but I was running short of time.

Day 8:

I didn’t feel like leaving Sahara. Chaair informed me that our next destination will be Taznakht and then Taroundant. I bought some saffron and viewed the citrus rich plain of Souss.

Day 9:

How much I loved being in the beach city Agadir! This city had a different architecture. Unlike the usual Muslim style, European architectural style is found here. finally we reached the UNESCO protected city of Essaouria.

Day 10:

Essaouria, is a fishing harbor and here I got to see a different aura. Neither Muslim nor European, it was something different- Portuguese! I shopped a lot! Ebony and Mother of Pearl filled one of my small hand bags. And then we headed for Marrakech.

Thus ended my 10-day long tour, where I covered the major splendid of the city. Thanks to Your Morocco Tour, but I will love to have a more intimate journey with the desert life of Morocco, the next time!
